Hello. I have two 12v LED bulbs normally used in automotive applications that I plan to repurpose in a Halloween craft project. Can I operate these bulbs using standard D-cell batteries, and if so, how many? Thanks!

A:
8 D cells in series will give about the right voltage. They may not last too long but for just one night I think you'll be ok.
You have to be careful to get the polarity right with LEDs.
