Wiring up Bulb

Q:
I got a T6 incandescent lamp rated to 2.6W and supply voltage of 24V. I'm using a DC power supply to supply the 24V using wires soldered directly to the bulb (+ve to one of the leads at the bottom of the bulb and -ve to the outer can) but the bulb doesnt glow. What am I missing here? Thanks for your help.

A:

If there are two leads at the base, then it may be that the outer can is not electrically connected. You could try connecting instead to the other lead.
