Bulb and Power Supply Watts

Hi.I just wanted to know if i could connect a 55W halogen bulb to a standard 10W bulb power supply? both are 12v. I'm just not sure if the wattage will be a problem.

It doesn't sound like it would work. The 10W supply can only put out a little less than an amp (10/12), but at 12V the bulb drws over 4 amps (55/12). So either the bulb won't light up or the power supply will get fried.
