Well, there were eggs around long before there were chickens. The dinosaurs laid eggs, and they were the ancestors of chickens. Fish lay eggs, and they were around before the dinosaurs.

You might say, okay, let’s restrict discussion to "chicken eggs". But then you have to be more specific about what a "chicken egg" is. Is it one that, when hatched, out comes a chicken, or is it only those eggs that have come out of the back side of a chicken? The answer to your original question depends on how you answer this one. We don’t even have to worry about the exact definition of "chicken" here, except to note that some animals are called chickens and some aren’t.
