What is Time?

Q:
I can't change my past, then I also can't change my future. If time is a line then it contains past, present and future. People that lived in past can't change their life, because they are already dead, but in future there are people living already - it means I live in past for them, so I can't change my future because I am already dead for them?

A:
These philosophical questions about time have been troubling people (Augustine, Einstein, ... ) for a long time.
Is the past definite in some way that the future isn't? If so, how? That's closely tied to the question of quantum meaurement.
Is the sense of one time being real and the others not real a sort of illusion? That's connected to the 4-d spacetime of General Relativity.
We really don't know the answers.
