Making NaCl Paramagnetic?

Can Sodium Chloride be changed from Diamagnetic to Paramagnetic by the addition of a chemical or some sort of reaction, Chemically or Electrochemically?

A quick googling of "paramagnetic NaCl" turned up quite a few scientific papers on how adding some dopants (e.g. selenium or manganese) and then irradiating with UV or x-rays produces a variety of paramagnetic centers in NaCl.
