Commanding Atoms Like Servants

Hello Sir, I am a Mechanical Engineer and am from India. I have question arise in my mind that what happen IF WE CAN CONTROL ATOMS AND MAKE THEM WORK FOR US AS WE COMMAND THEM like our servant. Example i am sitting on sofa and i will command atoms which are under my control and i command them to give me the remote which is on table and just in seconds its in my hand. So give me some guideline that i can work on this idea or not or it will be a waste of time and money.
