Q:
"Every body preserves it's state of rest or uniform motion unless it is acted upon by an external force" I am wondering how does Newton's first law of motion applies to living beings, from external force context.

A:
All objects obey Newton's First Law. When a living thing accelerates, it's because it is acted upon by a force from something else. For example, when you start to run, a friction force from the ground acts on you.
