How does the acceleration of a golf putter affect the way a golf ball rolls when it is putted?

A:

Hi Rick,

No, it doesn't.   The crucial variable is the putter's speed at the instant of contact.

Another consideration is the weight of the putter's head.   If it is light in comparison to the weight of the golf ball then you won't get as much momentum transfer and the ball won't go as far.
