Is it possible to put an artificial satellite into an orbit in such a way that it will always remain direct over a city (I mean at any specific place)?

A:

Hello Sagar,

The kind of orbits you are referring to are called Geostationary.  They are possible only if the city in question lies directly on the equator.   A nice discussion of them can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geosynchronous_orbit.
