in class we are making fins for are botle rockets and i found that you should use balsa wood but none of the websies tell me why. I was wondering if maybe you could tell me.

A:
My guess is that it's because balsa wood is unusually light-weight compared to other materials that are rigid enough and easy to work with. The lighter the materials the farther the rocket can lift up.
