Q:
So from what I've read from all of these answers and questions, I just need to know one thing for myself: does light count as one of the properties of matter??

Perhaps the most basic idea we've tried to get across is that lots of questions, including the sort that sometimes get asked in school, don't really mean anything. What would be different about the world if we said that light was or wasn't a 'property of matter'? As Galileo would say, it wouldn't make any difference if we called it 'polenta'. It is what it is.
