I know that the sun is not the type of star that will burst, but has there ever been any type of theory that it would?

A:
I have bad news and good news. First for the bad news. The sun is the type of star that will burst. But the good news is that its not going to burst for a really long time so you have nothing to worry about. Just like living things stars have life cycles so eventually every star will die or burst. Here is a picture of a star which has become a Red Giant, which is what our sun will become one day.
