Cordless Power

Is it posible to have a wireless computer cord? In other words, using modern technoligy, can you invent a small device that plugs into the output and sends battery charge signils to your computer? (My comuter cord is very annoying)

In principle it is possible to transmit power without cords. For example, many electric toothbrushes recharge powered by the electromagnetic fields from a coil that isn’t connected to the toothbrush. There is some work on developing systems like that for use throughout a room, but they are nowhere near being practical for ordinary use yet.
