Is there new news/theories on making light travel faster than the the speed (186,000 mps) light?

A:
No theory predicts the speed of light. The speed of light is an experimentally determined number. In all of the experiments to date, the speed does not exceed the value you stated. Einstein’s theory of relativity neatly explains the fact, experimentally verified, that the measured speed of light is the same in all co-ordinate systems, even ones in motion with respect to each other.
