A:

Hello Subhadeep,

Undamped oscillations can be quite annoying.  The first one that came to my mind is the shock absorber system in an automobile.  If their are no  shock absorbers then your car goes bouncing along for quite a while after you hit a bump.   In general most mechanical and electrical systems have oscillating degrees of freedom.  Any change in the position of the undamped system will induce oscillations.  Unless they are damped, you will have to wait for a long time before equilibrium position is reached.
