Is it Possible to Stop a Bullet in the Air?

is it possible to stop a bullet in the air? i mean if u fire a bullet from a gun, can u stop it before it hits anything?like take all its velocity away or something. let me know. thanks

Not really.  The bullet has a lot of momentum.  In order to stop it you have to get rid of all that momentum.  The easiest way is to let it hit some other object and let that object take up the momentum.  Of course if the bullet is fired straight up the force of gravity will eventually cause it to lose its momentum and fall back to earth.
