Dead vs. New Tennis Balls

What is the difference between a dead (old) tennis ball and a new one? And how does it affect your game?

The difference is that dead tennis balls have gone flat. This is because they start of pressurized, but after time, some of the air leaks out of the inside of the ball and the ball looses pressure. For some info on why this happens, check out
Less pressure inside the ball means that the ball wont bounce as well. To find out why this happens, take a look at (Its the same for tennis balls as for basketballs.) Naturally, when the ball doesnt bounce as well as you expect it to, your game probably wont be as good.
