What does taurus mean? My daughter is making a science project and she is trying to find about horoscopes, please asnwer?!

Long before people came to understand stars, space, or even the fact that the earth is round, people thought up the constellations - groups of stars that looked like animals and other things that they were familiar with (kind of like if you look at a cloud and imagine it as having a particular shape). The constellation called "Taurus" contains Aldeberan, one of the brightest stars in the night sky. (If you’d like to learn more about the constellation, has a very nice article.)

As far as horoscopes go, the word "Taurus" is Latin for "bull", and that’s just the word that comes to mind when most physicists describe astrology. The problem with astrology is not just that there isn’t a shred of scientific evidence to support it. It’s also that the entire structure of the theory is completely at odds with everything we know about how the way the world works.
