Positive and Negative

Q:
In Science we are learning Chemical Charges Positive charges and Negative ones. I dont get if you placed them together as one it makes zero (neutral) cause Neg+Pos= Positve in math but in the class room its zero how can that be?

It’s odd that you say that in math class you learned that pos + neg =pos. If you have the same size pos and neg, you obviously get zero. That’s like getting paid a dollar and paying out a dollar, it leaves you right where you started, with zero change.
