I wish I could point out the specific point where these papers go wrong, but the one I looked at was so far from even beginning to make contact with modern physics that I just couldn't get that far. Many of the sentences don't seem to have any recognizable meaning. Others, such as "...frequency-specific effects range throughout the electromagnetic spectrum and are not limited to just the visible and ultraviolet regions." have been well known since long before I was born. In fact, my first scientific job was using electron spin resonance, exactly an effect of that type, again discovered before I was born.
The biggest problem for any attempt at constructing hidden variables is that the Bell Inequalities (search this site) are consistently violated in our world. Any non-conspiratorial local hidden variable theory obeys those inequalites. So none can describe our world. If you search Mortenson's first paper on hidden variables for "Bell" you get nothing. She doesn't even know the name of the game.
In the famous characterization used by Pauli, "Das ist nicht nur nicht richtig, es ist nicht einmal falsch!"
