Gravity Wave Doppler Shift?
Most recent answer: 02/20/2013
Q:
Can "any (form/type) of wave" experience doppler effect? Or, there is a wave(s) immune to doppler shift (never changes its frequency?) Does "gravitational wave" (if it exists) experience doppler shift?

A:
Certainly every wave shows a Doppler shift. That should include gravitational waves, although those have only been detected indirectly. They should show the same Doppler formula that light waves have, somewhat different from the formulas for waves in media, where speed relative to the medium matters.
