"Dynamics" is a pretty broad thing. Generally, it refers to any kind of study where there are continuous changes or movements like fluid dynamics. Usually, the calculus of differential equations is central to dynamical studies. Differential calculus has to do with rates at which certain quantities are changing, and how their changes effect other quantities and so on - so it fits the bill for a tool to study dynamics pretty nicely!
