Sinking Sharks

are there any fishes other than sharks will sink if they stop swimming?why is this so?

A:
Anything that is denser than water (heavier for how much space it takes up) will sink. Sharks sink because they have a lot more muscle and cartilage than other types of fish - muscle and cartilage are very dense. Many other types of fish have more fat, which is very light and helps to make them float higher up. Other types of fish that will sink include all of the ’bottom dwellers,’ like catfish.
