You can make small model tornado using just water, some duct tape, two 2 liter bottles, and a metal washer. This webpage describes how: http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/experiment/tornado-in-a-bottle .
Make sure you get someone to help you with this project, all of the water could make a big mess otherwise!
