Program Title:
The Educational Touring Theatre
Educational Touring Theatre and the Adventure Science Center of Nashville Nashville, TN, United States
Geographical Area:
TN and surrounding states, other areas possible
General Description:
"Sir Isaac Newton: The Apple and Beyond"
A fast paced, interactive, live theatre presentation that introduces students to the life and science of one of history's greatest scientists, Sir Isaac Newton. The performance debunks the old "apple on the head" story, and highlights Newton's monumental discoveries in gravity, motion, and light.

"Move It!"
A hands-on physics workshop that takes students through a whirlwind of activities that delve into Newton's Laws of Motion.

"The Giants of Electrical Science"
Who was the greatest electrical scientist of all time? This fast paced, interactive theatre presentation will help answer that question as Benjamin Franklin, Alessandro Volta, Michael Faraday, and Thomas Edison, vie for the title of "Giant of Electrical Science." With the help of student volunteers, each scientist will demonstrate his special contributions to the science of electricity. Along the way, students will learn all about electricity and how it works.

"The Electricity Party"
Like "natural philosophers" (scientists) of old, your students will be energized with this hands-on exploration of electricity. Working in small groups, students will build their own electrical storage devices and create human electrical circuits! Some students will explore electromagnetism as they build electric motors. Your students will be shocked to discover how much fun learning about electricity can be! All materials will be provided.
Area of Science:
Physics, Optics
Target Grade Levels:
Target Group Size:
"The Apple and Beyond" and "Giants of Electrical Science" - recommended maximum of 150

"Move It!" and "The Electricity Party" - maximum of 30
