A:
Birds like food that fits in their beaks and is nutritious. That means that they like seeds. I once watched a finch in my backyard eat half of the seeds (the white fuzz) out of a dandelion.
The seed you can buy for parakeets is usually a mix of white millet, canary seed, red millet, flax seed, oats, and wheat. My birds really love millet. They also pick through the other seeds to find whatever they are hungry for.
My birds also like brocolli, Chex cereal and potato chips. Each bird has it’s own preference-- just like humans.
