Q:
with outer space being infinite if you lose energy into space wouldn’t it sooner or later die out?

A:
We aren’t sure if space is finite or infinite. If it’s finite, the energy will loop back around. If it’s infinite, it’ll keep getting farther away. If the energy consists of some object, there’s no reason to think that it will ’die out’ from its own point of view. From our point of view, it will become increasingly remote and irrelevant.
