The most pronounced reaction seems to be the hydration of your salt. Salts can form crystal structures with trapped water, and CuSO4 is one of them. It is white and becomes a vitrous blue substance when fully hydrated.

CuSO4 + 5 H20 --> CuSO4.5H2O
