Q:
I have heard, some time ago, that cold water will heat up faster in a microwave than hot water. I said this at work one day and everyone thought I was crazy. Is this true or not?

A:
I've never done the experiment but my instinct says no. If the cold and hot water samples have the same sort of impurities I cannot see how this can be.
Why don't you perform a home experiment and tell us the results.
