Thermal Insulation

Q:
Can the materials used to make a thermus be also used to keep an ice cube solid in a cardboard box. If not then please do tell me. It is my school project.

Many good thermos bottles use vacuum layers for insulation. That doesn’t sound like the sort of thing you can easily put together yourself. Styrofoam offers a reasonably good substitute.
