Dalton had no particular model of atoms. He just thought they were small things which came in a bunch of different types, one type for each element. Each atom had a particular mass, and some other unknown properties that determined the ways in which it could stick to other atoms.
Dalton used these ideas to try to explain the weights of different gases and the ratios in which they would combine to make different compounds. So "Dalton's atomic model" is a model for explaining chemistry, not a model of atoms.
