A:
That depends on how theyre charged. A hydrogen fuel cell plays the
same general role as a battery. If theyre charged up using solar
power, for example, then they use mostly renewable resources. If
theyre charged up with power obtained from fossil fuels, then they use
non-renewable resources. Unfortunately almost all plans for hydrogen
fuel cells are based on the same non-renewable energy sources which are
now in use, just as almost all batteries are now charged from
non-renewable power sources.
