Squishy Floor

I just found your answer to how a ball bounces, but I have a marble that doesn't squish and it bounces on the floor. How can it do that if it doesn't squish and push back?

Even glass can squish and bounce back a little bit. More importantly, most floors (say wood) can squish and push back. If you get a chance to see a fast video of a bat hitting a ball, you'll be amazed at how much hard things can squish.
