Great question! It does seem sort of crazy that sharks would be scared of dolphins. But there is actually a good reason. Sharks like to eat animals that are smaller than them - they particularly like to eat young (baby) dolphins. Dolphins, however, are really smart animals, so they’ve long since figured this out. And since the dolphins aren’t very fond of having their children eaten, whenever they see a shark, they will try to kill it. (They usually succeed.) It seems a bit odd that a dolphin could kill a shark, but they actually can! The dolphin will swim very fast and ram the shark so hard that it dies. As such, sharks have good reason to be scared of dolphins.
