Chris,
There are many animals in the rainforest. According to
www.animalsoftherainforest.org there are 125 kinds of mammals, 400
kinds of birds, 100 kinds of reptiles, thousands of kinds of insects
and 65 kinds of amphibian in a typical 4 square mile area of
rainforest.
As a resident of the rainforest in Southwest Cameroon I can tell
you that the amount and variety of animals here is amazing. I have seen
at least a dozen species of frogs alone in my yard, not to mention
monkies, drills, countless butterflies, and awide assortment of
lizards. As far as snakes go we have vipers, pythons, mambas, puff
adders, cobras and boas. We also have smething called Duiker which is
this weird little animal that looks like a deer but is about the size
of a dog and bounces around a lot.
If you want to know more there are numerous sites about the rainforest on the web.
