Sunburn is caused by exposure to ultraviolet light rays.
To protect yourself from this light, you have 2 choices. First, you
could wear sunscreen (this is the best idea). Sunscreen will absorb the
UV rays and keep them from burning your skin. Remember that you have to
keep putting more on to keep from burning. The other way to keep from
getting burnt is to wear clothing. Since UV rays don't travel too deep,
most clothing will block the rays (as long as it is not full of holes,
even tiny ones). It would probably be best to wear light colored
clothes because they do not get as warm.
