Do sperm have a íbrainí? If yes, then does that mean that they are a living entity?
- Anton (age 14)
Sperm donít have brains. Brains are arrangements of multiple neurons (a type of cell) interacting with each other. A sperm is a single cell itself, with no neurons.
As for whether you call sperms íliving entitiesí, thatís just a question of how you want to use words. Theyíre certainly functioning parts of living entities, but they arenít able to survive on their own.
Lots of living entities do not have brains, such as plants, single-celled animals, fungi, sea sponges and many others.
