Understanding the Bell Inequalities

Q:
My question is about this loophole free Bells test:http://phys.org/news/2015-10-universe-weird-landmark-quantum.htmlI have done so much reading and am still confused as to how this proves that "local reality" and "local causality" are false. To my understanding Einstein was arguing that the state of the electron photon pair was already pre-determined before Alice and Bob sent their photons to Juanita. Which part of this experiment proves that this is not true and how does it prove this? Thank you

Here's a video that explains it, maybe at a little more length than you want.

Follow-Up #1: Are distant particles really distant?

Q:
Thank you very much for this. The world is mind bending! Is it possible that perhaps these entangled particles dont experience space as two points in a three dimensional world we are used to, maybe they can bend space thus making the transfer of data seem instantaneous?

That's a very deep question and beyond my ability to answer. Here's some thoughts.

If there were any  passageway through spacetime closely connecting the two particles that seem distant to us, it would have to be a very special sort of connection. The reason is that no classical signal can travel through it. Classical signals can only travel at the speed of light or slower as seen in our usual spacetime. There are, however, some very interesting speculations by Lenny Susskind and collaborators along the lines you suggest. Here's a link: . I hope you understand it better than I do.
