Water and ice Density and Temperature

Q:
1.As the temperature increases, the density of a substance decreases. Is it true for every substance? 2.The density decreases as we decrease the temperature of water (water undergoes a phase change to ice on decreasing the temperature). Please explain this phenomena in terms of temperature. How does the same change with different substances?
