Crashing Bottle Rockets
Most recent answer: 10/22/2007
Q:
Hi,
My science class of eighth graders are building bottle rockets out of 2-liter bottles, paper towel rolls, and cardboard. Three of my students would like to know how to crash a bottle rocket the fastest. What are your suggestions? Please answer this question. Thank you.

Mr. Babcock -
If you are really interested in "crashing" your bottle rockets as quickly as possible, I would suggest pointing them at the ground. ;) If your actual goal is to make them fly faster / further, I would suggest that you look around our site. We have answered several questions already concerning the construction of bottle rockets - what kind of fins / noses work best, what ratio of water to air to use, etc. Good luck!
