i am doing a science project and i need to know: what are the properties of light and what are the properties of sound. and i need to know is there a difference between light waves and visible light?

For the general properties of light and sound, you can take a look at the Light and Sound
section of our questions list. If you have any more specific questions, you’re welcome to send them in.
As for lightwaves vs. visible light, all light travels in lightwaves. Different types of light have different wavelengths. (The wavelength is the distance between the spots of a repeating wave which look the same- in this case meaning they have the same electric and magnetic fields./mw) The wavelengths of visible light fall between about 400 nanometers and 700 nanometers. 400nm is violet-colored light, and wavelengths just below that are ultraviolet, which is not visible to humans. 700nm is red-colored light, and wavelengths just above that are infrared, which is also not visible to humans. In between 400nm and 700nm is the rest of the rainbow.
