does hydergen fuel cells use renewable or non renewable resoureses?
- shannon (age 14)
That depends on how they're charged. A hydrogen fuel cell plays the
same general role as a battery. If they're charged up using solar
power, for example, then they use mostly renewable resources. If
they're charged up with power obtained from fossil fuels, then they use
non-renewable resources. Unfortunately almost all plans for hydrogen
fuel cells are based on the same non-renewable energy sources which are
now in use, just as almost all batteries are now charged from
non-renewable power sources.
