The Color of Water and Ice

A:
Water and ice have the same intrinsic color: blue. Water and ice absorb
red light, and we see the blue light that both transmit. The true
nature of this color is only apparent through multiple meters. A glass
of water does not look blue, and an ice cube does not look blue to us.
However, the Caribbean and certain glaciers are obviously deep blue.
