Can antimatter be a reliable form of energy in the future?

A:
No, it's not cost effective. You have to use lots more of energy in order to create antimatter than you get out of it. It just doesn't pay. The second law of thermodynamics makes sure of that. In addition, the technical aspects of the production/utilization process are unbelievably hard.
