Is it possible to have absolutely no friction?
- Jenny (age 13)
The only thing I can think of without friction is super-fluid Helium, which occurs at a temperature around 2 degrees above absolute zero. Everything else has friction. There are various kinds including surface roughness and intermolecular forces. Friction can be reduced by adding a lubricant, such as oil, but it cannot be reduced to zero.
