Is it just as difficult to accelerate your car on the Moon as it is on Earth?
Dallas. Texas, USA
You might spin your wheels a bit more since the gravity on the moon is five times less than that of earth. But given that there would be enough traction, and there was an ample supply of fuel and oxygen, you could accelerate your car on the moon just as well as on the earth. Since gravity acts only vertically it doesn't affect horizontal acceleration. The horizontal forces necessary to accelerate would be the same on the moon as on the earth.
