Primarily Pierce, St. Croix and Dunn counties. That keeps us within about a 50 to 60 mile distance in Wisconsin. There are Minnesota schools closer to us than that, but we haven't crossed the border yet.
The UWRF SPS chapter likes to bring 'hands-on' physics activities to students k-12. Although we sometimes use some large scale demonstrations as attention-getters, we prefer to give students the chance to actually do things themselves, and thus to experience some of the wonderment of how the universe works.
Physics
K-12. We’ve done grade school visits, high school visits, and even (once) to a pre-school!
Preferably single classroom at a time, but we’ve also done larger venues where people would circulate thru. We focus on participation (hands-on) activities rather than "show biz" demonstrations. Well, admittedly we do occasionally do a few big one-shot demos....
