Currently our range limits us to the Reno/Sparks area in Nevada (Washoe County), eventually Northern Nevada and Northern California - we hope to expand the range somewhat in time for the International Year of Physics.
Student co-coordinated, faculty mentored and assisted. The show is a combination of hands on and presented experiences intended to interest and educate at the same time. Many of the demonstrations and experiences have dramatic effects and are exciting while illustrating a principle in physics. Our centerpiece is a 22 passenger ELECTRIC BUS with on board demos powered by solar cells on the roof. Small groups can be accommodated on the bus while larger groups require set up in a classroom or assembly room.
We use the electric bus to go local schools with a variety of general or special topic demo shows. Currently our limitation is the range of the bus which we hope to increase in the next year with some upgraded batteries and controllers.
Physics
We target grades K-8, usually 2-8 but will respond to high schools as well if requested.
